Lots of friends and loved ones came to hear Elder Dickson speak in Sacrament meeting today. He gave an amazing talk on sacrifice. 

The Adventure of The White Envelope

These are the mission adventures of the star-missionary Elder Samuel Kent Dickson. His two year mission: to explore strange new lands, to seek out the Spirit, and meet golden contacts; to boldly go where no Dickson has gone before. 

On January 19 2013, it was opened. THE BIG WHITE ENVELOPE!

Upon opening this highly anticipated piece of snail mail from a very significant office in Salt Lake City, Samuel learned that he would be serving in the Brazil, Porto Alegre North Mission. The plan was to report to the Sao Paulo, Brazil MTC on Wednesday, May 29th. However, due to unforeseen Visa delays, he will be reporting to the Provo, Utah MTC. lame! Coincidentally, a few blocks away from where he was living just a month ago. Or maybe even the same place, due to the Provo MTC extension. But, this way, his mother will be given a few weeks to adjust to the idea of her son being on a different continent. 

This Saturday may be his last chance to go on a date, hug a girl, etc., etc., etc. You know the rules. From then on girls, it's handshakes only!So don't miss your final opportunity!!

In a few days, all the goodbyes will be said to his friends and family members. He will be addressing his ward this coming Sunday, to provide his insight on the Gospel. Then all his bags will be packed, he'll be ready to go, he'll stand there outside the door, his mom will have to cry and say goodbye.
